The Horse Drawn Funeral - An Elegant Tribute for a Life Well Lived
In the 19th century funerals were elaborate, dramatic and somber. Gradually, this grief process lost its cultural relevance. Americans were advised "to get it over quickly" and a lot of emotion was unexpressed. As the wheel of change turns, perhaps the time to properly mourn is becoming more evident. Society has begun to recognize the close loving relationships of the family and the need to memorialize them in death, while celebrating their life. The beauty of the horse drawn hearse is a marvelous embodiment of bereavement. It lends a certain resignation, yet honour, beauty and elegance to the memory of the one you loved.

Praying Horses
"In the end we are not burdens to one another; we are blessings. We are creatures of faith and rich humanity. In the end we must tend to bodies and souls. The fashions may change, but the fundamental obligations remain--to love and grieve, to be there for one another, to witness and remember." From My Word, by Thomas Lynch
